What is Shio Kosho?
Shio Kosho is a learning program and schedule that will explain Japanese to you in a whole new way, and then give you a new lesson every day. Each daily lesson can be completed in 30 minutes to an hour, with instructions on how to extend that time if you would like to keep studying.
Each lesson will build on the last, and by the end of the second week you will be able to use some basic Japanese phrases in your everyday life.

Japanese is the most popular answer when an American is asked what you would learn if you could. A beautiful culture, a wonderful place to visit, and lets not forget the greatest entertainment on the planet.

(It's ok, you can be honest. I love them too!)
So then, why doesn't everyone learn it? Currently, about 4 in every 10,000 Americans can speak any Japanese, and only 1 of those 4 can call themselves fluent. Japanese speaking translators earn on average 4x the amount a Spanish or French translator earns. It isn't a lack of people wanting to learn. The problem is US. The TEACHERS.
The Japanese teaching methods are simply too archaic to be effective in this new technological world we live in. If we want Americans to learn Japanese with confidence, it's time for teaching methods to evolve.

I have spend the last 6 years teaching the language to children, and let me tell you, we do not give them enough credit. If it is fun and well paced, they will learn.
